Clicking on a wiki in the course room will take you to the wiki view page. This contains several tabs:
- View- This view shows the current Wiki page
- Edit- This view shows the current wiki page to edit mode so that you can add, modify or delete the contents of the pages
- Comments- Here you can view and add comments to the current wiki page
- History- This view displays the different versions of the current wiki page (version number, author, date of last modification, etc.)
- Map- This page provides various special pages, e.g. a page index, unlinked pages authors, etc.
- Files- Displays files that have been uploaded to the wiki.
- Administration - Possibility to delete wiki pages.
After you have created and configured a wiki in the course room, you will automatically be directed to a page where you can create the start page of the wiki. Each additional page in the wiki is created by placing a link to the new page to be created on an existing page.
In detail, the following steps are to be taken when creating a new wiki page:
- Click the 'Wiki' in the course room.
- In the wiki, navigate to the page where you want to create a link to a new page. For example, use the special page Page List.
- Click the Edit tab of the existing wiki page.
- Enter the title of the new page in the desired location of the existing page and enclose the title in double square brackets, e.g.
[(New Wiki page| Title of the new WIki page)]
- Click the link to a new wiki page on the view page of an existing wiki page.
- Select the format of the page: HTML, Creole, or NWiki. This step is not necessary if the format for all wiki pages has been set in the wiki settings ("Default format" and "Default format" settings).
- Click the "Create Page" button.
- Create the content of the new wiki page in the upper text area.
- Optionally, you can add keywords for the new wiki page - enter them in the lower Keywords area as a comma-separated list.
- Finally, click on the "Save" button.
To edit a wiki page, proceed as follows:
- Click the wiki in the course room.
- In the wiki, navigate to the page you want to edit, i.e. whose content you want to change. Use the special page "Page list" for this purpose, for example.
- Click on the "Edit" tab and make your changes to the content of the page.
- Finally, click the "Save" button.
To write a comment proceed as follows:
- Click the wiki in the course room.
- Navigate in the wiki to the page you want to comment. Use the special page "Page list" for this purpose, for example.
- Click on the "Comments" tab.
- Click on the "Add comment" link.
- Write your comment and finally click the "Save changes" button.
- Click the wiki in the course room.
- In the wiki, navigate to the page on which you want to see the version history. Use the special page "Page list" for this purpose, for example.
Click on the "History" tab. - An overview of all previous versions of the wiki page opens with the author and modification date.Klicken Sie das Wiki im Lernraum an.
- If you want to compare two versions, select these two versions in the Differences column and click the Compare Selected Versions button.
In the wiki, you have various special pages at your disposal, which are created automatically
- Click the wiki in the course room.
- Click on the "Map" tab.
- Select the desired special page from the "Map Menu" drop-down menu.
The following special pages are available:
- Contribution - shows a list of the pages you have contributed to - written, modified, newly created
- Links - this page shows which wiki pages link to the current wiki page and which wiki pages the current wiki page links to
- Orphaned pages - shows a list of wiki pages that are not linked anywhere
- Page index - shows the hierarchical structure of the wiki, starting from the current wiki page
- Page list - shows an alphabetically sorted list of all wiki pages
- Updated pages - shows a list of the last modified wiki pages
