Coupons in the Context of the University Hospital (UKA)

This page explains how different different groups of people at the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen can obtain a coupon to access RWTH services.
Coupons are used to obtain a status or role in RWTH's Identity Management System (IdM) and access to the associated services (e.g. Wi-Fi).
The institutions listed below are responsible for issuing coupons. These institutions determine who is authorized to issue coupons by assigning the Verwaltung Rollen ("Role Management") role.
The organization head is assigned the role management by default. However, it can be given to other people upon request.
Types of coupons
Members of Uniklinik RWTH Aachen
Employees of the University Hospital Aachen (UKA) and FB 10 must request their coupon on the UKA Intranet under RWTH Services.

You will then receive your ConnectMe coupon via email. UKA IT Department is responsible for issuing this coupon.
Employees of UKA and FB10 receive the corresponding status and access to RWTH Aachen University services via the coupon procedure. These services include using the Wi-Fi network "eduroam" and participating in (committee) elections. To this end, UKA's SAP system was connected to RWTH Aachen University's Identity Management System. The current data protection regulations apply.
Employees of FB10 generally have additional authorizations in RWTH's systems similar to those of RWTH employees.
Information on how eduroam can be used at the UKA is available here: Eduroam for employees of the University Hospital (UKA).
UKA Training Academy for Health Professions
RWTH services used as part of the programme, e.g. emedia, require registration in RWTH Identity Management. The coupon will be issued by the Academy itself if required.
UKA School for Medical-Technical Assistants
Students and teachers of the School for Medical-Technical Assistants (MTA) are not automatically registered for the Identity Management, but still use the services of RWTH Aachen University, e.g. emedia. If required, the coupon will be issued by the School.
UKA School of Healthcare, Paediatric and Nursing Care
Students and teachers of the School of Healthcare, Paediatric and Nursing Care (GKK) are not automatically registered for the Identity Management, but still use the services of RWTH Aachen University, e.g. emedia. If required, the coupon will be issued by the School.
UKA School of Physiotherapy
Students and teachers of the School of Physiotherapy are not automatically registered for the Identity Management, but still use the services of RWTH Aachen University, e.g. emedia. If required, the coupon will be issued by the School.

Redeem Coupon
Your coupon will be sent via email and must be redeemed in IdM ConnectMe. You can do this by clicking on the link in the email. The procedure is similar to that for RWTH employees, as described in our guide Coupon for Employees. Please note that only FB10 employees will receive RWTH email accounts - this step is otherwise skipped.
If you already have an RWTH Single Sign-On Account with a username in the format ab123456, you can log in to redeem your coupon. If you do not have an account, you will have the option to create one.
If you are unsure, you can use the IdM PasswordReset.
Please note:
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is mandatory for the RWTH Single Sign-On since July 2024. If you already have an account but have not yet set up MFA, you must do so before redeeming your coupon. Please follow our guide carefully. It is important that the process is fully completed before you close your browser. Once you start setting up MFA, you can only reset it by completing an identity check in person.
