Coupons in the Context of the University Hospital (UKA)
Coupons are issued by the institutions named here on their own responsibility. The institutions themselves determine which persons are authorized to issue coupons by assigning the role "Administration Coupon Procedure".
Coupons are used to obtain a status or role in RWTH Aachen University's Identity Management System (IdM) and access to the associated services at RWTH Aachen University (incl. Wi-Fi). If a person does not yet have an account in the IdM, a new account is created with a user name in the form ab123456.
Members of Uniklinik RWTH Aachen
Employees of the University Hospital Aachen (UKA) and FB10 receive the corresponding status and access to the services of RWTH Aachen University via the coupon procedure. These include the use of the Wi-Fi network "eduroam" and the opportunity to participate in (committee) elections. For this purpose, the SAP system of UKA was connected to the Identity Management System of RWTH Aachen University. The current data protection regulations apply.
Employees of FB10 generally have some additional authorizations in the systems of RWTH similar to those of employees of RWTH.
Applying for and redeeming coupons:
Employees of the University Hospital Aachen (UKA) and FB 10 must apply for their coupon on the UKA Intranet (RWTH Services).
You will then receive your ConnectMe coupon by e-mail. UKA's IT Department is responsible for issuing this coupon.
The coupon must be redeemed via ConnectMe. This can be done directly by clicking on the link in the e-mail. The proceedure is similar to that for employees, as described here. Please note, that only employees of FB 10 will receive RWTH e-mail accounts - this step is otherwise skipped.
When redeeming the coupon, it is important to know whether you already have a username (account) in the form “ab123456” at RWTH. If you are unsure, you can request a reminder to your registered e-mail address with the password reset.
If you already have a username at RWTH, you must log in via Single Sign-On to redeem the coupon for your account.
Important: Multifactor authentication (MFA) has become mandatory for the Single Sign-On as of July 2024. If you already have an account but have not yet set up multi-factor authentication (MFA), you must do so before a coupon can be redeemed for your account. Please follow our guide carefully. It is important that the process is fully completed before you close your browser. Once you have started setting up MFA, it is only possible to reset it by means of a personal identity check.
Information on how eduroam (Wi-Fi) can be used at the UKA is available here: Eduroam for employees of the University Hospital (UKA)
