Account overview
You can use the IdM Selfservice to gain access to various services manage in one place. There are also the following accounts, each enable access to one or more services.

People without an active status are not managed via the IdM, but via the “KatalogPlus” of the UB. The primary official e-mail address for employees and external lecturers is transferred from the IdM. Students receive the e-mail address from the RWTH domain and persons without status or missing e-mail addess will receive their IdM contact e-mail address. | |
CMS | ContentManagementsystem of RWTH Aachen University, attended by the ZHV | The account will be created automatically if a team member of the CMS team adds you to groups of sites. | |
DMS-Service | Document-Management-System (DMS) of the "Zentrale Hochschulverwaltung", maintained by the ZHV | Only people who have a role that grants access to DMS will receive this account. It is created automatically and deleted if the role is revoked. | |
Hörsaal 4.0 | Use of the media equipment in the large lecture halls at RWTH as part of the Lecture Hall 4.0 project | Only people who have the role "Zugriff Hörsaal 4.0" receive this account. It is created automatically and removed again when the role is revoked. When the account is removed, all data stored on the lecture hall PCs are deleted automatically. | |
IT Center Ticketportal | Tickettool of the IT Center | Students and employees automatically get this account. All people registered within IdM may create this account via Selfservice. Users for whom the account was not automatically rolled out based on one of their statuses can independently delete no longer needed accounts at any time and also create them again. | |
RWTH Collaboration | Sharepoint as a service (SPaSS) | The account is currently still created automatically for students, employees, external faculty members and fzj members as part of most coupon procedures. It is used to provide access to various Sharepoint applications.
Users for whom the account was not automatically rolled out based on one of their statuses can delete accounts they no longer need on their own. Attention: If you delete the account, your data will be deleted and cannot be restored. Data in Sharepoint applications will also be deleted. Doctoral students linked twho have an entry in RWTHcontacts will receive the e-mail address registered in RWTHcontacts, students will receive the e-mail address from the RWTH domain, employees and all other persons with an entry in RWTHcontacts will receive the e-mail address registered there. If none of the above conditions were met, the person will receive their IdM contact e-mail address RWTH Collaboration account e-mail address. | |
PC Pool | There are PC-pools in several locations which are available to all students of RWTH Aachen University, free of charge. | Students, employees, and scholars as well as members of some coupon procedures will get this account automatically. Users for whom the account was not rolled out automatically based on one of their status can independently delete accounts that are no longer required. Attention: Data on the storage space provided via the account will also be deleted. When participating in I11 practical training courses, the account should not be deleted without consulting the respective lecturer! | |
RWTH-E-Mail | E-Mail and calendar on the central Exchange system | Students automatically receive an e-mail account when they redeem their student coupons. If necessary, employees can contact the IT ServiceDesk. Administrators of mail domains hosted in the Exchange system can use the MailAdm to issue coupons. During redemption the account will be created. | |
RWTH Single Sign-On | Selfservice (via Shibboleth), RWTH Single Sign-On | Any person registered within the IdM of RWTH University is provided with this account. | |
SAP-Service | SAP reporting Portal (ZHV). Login via role "Rolle Verwaltung Infouser-Finanzen" | Only people who have a role that enables access to SAP will receive this account. It is created automatically and dismantled if the role is lost. | |
Serverhosting | Serverhosting at IT Center | Any person registered in the IdM may create this account via Selfservice. The account will only be useful for people utilizing hosting services of the IT Center. | |
UMS | Unified Messaging Services (UMS) | Scholars, employees, employees of UKA, RWTH-Partner, members of Gutech, FZJ, and the university council, FIW, the Campus GmbH, and the International Academy as well as retired lecturers are able to create this account via Selfservice. | |
VPN | Virtual Private Network (VPN) | Students and employees get this account automatically. Most coupon procedures will enable the creation of the account via Selfservice. Users for whom the account was not automatically rolled out based on one of their statuses can independently delete any no longer needed accounts at any time and also create them again. |
Some of these accounts are set up automatically after the registration, e.g., the RWTH Single Sign-On account. Others can be added afterwards via the Selfservice, depending on your authorization, e.g., the accounts available for employees may differ from those for students.
