The PLECS products (Blockset and Standalone) are used to facilitate the development of power electronic systems. With a top-down approach, PLECS enables the modeling and simulation of complete systems including generators, frequency converters and loads.

PLECS includes a comprehensive component library that covers the electrical, magnetic, thermal and mechanical aspects of electrical energy conversion, including their control devices. The schematic editor allows the input of power electronic circuits in a familiar and intuitive way for electrical engineers. Typical power electronic components such as semiconductors, chokes and capacitors are placed in the circuit diagram and linked together by dragging connections.
