Both A‑products and B‑products (including products from the Microsoft Select Plus contract) have been moved to the asknet Software Shop.

The IT Center provides numerous software products for the institutes, staff, and students of RWTH Aachen. By bundling licenses for multiple institutes and concluding licensing agreements, we aim to acquire software at preferential prices and pass these cost advantages on to the RWTH Aachen institutes.

For these products the IT Center handles contract matters with the respective vendors, as well as license renewals and the provision of software updates. These licensing agreements are usually pre‑financed by the IT Center. License fees are allocated cost‑coveringly to the users according to their usage volume. The software licenses can be purchased via the Software Shop.

Network licenses are provided and managed by one of our license servers.
