The IT Center provides numerous software products for the institutions, employees and students of RWTH. We strive to acquire software at favorable prices by bundling licenses for several institutions and concluding license agreements so that we can then pass this price advantage on to the institutions of RWTH Aachen University.

For these products, the IT Center takes care of the contractual matters with the respective companies as well as license renewals and provision of software updates. These license agreements are usually pre-financed by the IT Center. The license fees are passed on to the users according to the scope of use. For this purpose, the software licenses can be purchased via the Software-Shop or in case of Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching licenses via the Microsoft portal.

The network licenses are provided and managed by one of our license servers.
