At the moment, users can  only use pre-installed JupyterLab Profiles. If you need a customized JupyterLab Profile, you need to request it separately.

This restriction is in place due to security vulnerabilities in old versions of JupyterLab and Jupyter Kernels.

To add a JupyterLab Profile to the HPC JupyterHub please send an email to (E-Mail schreiben an:) servicedesk@itc.rwth-aachen.de with the name of the JupyterLab Profile, default hardware settings and a list of conda+pip packages to install.

You can also ask to duplicate a specific existing Profile with custom modifications. 

For a new Profile, please provide the following information in your email request:

• Kernel(s) (Programming language)
• Templates for one or multiple Jupyter Notebooks (Optional)
• Required environment variables and modules to load (Optional)
• Default hardware
• Runtime and configuration requirements for Slurm (Optional)

An HPC administrator will then contact you to confirm and customize the request to produce a JupyterLab Profile.

The created Profile will be available to all users of the HPC system.
