Extension of computing projects

The longest project period is a year (12 months). If your project lasts longer you are welcome to file in an extension project proposal by using the regular JARDS online submission system. You can find the corresponding "extend" button (1.) next to the project in your project list OR your can (2.) just type in the project id and click the button:

In case (2.), please ensure to use the old project ID, but not the previous application ID. We will re-use the reported existing project ID. Please add to the project description an 'achieved results' chapter. Please note the following:

  • Project extensions are only possible without any overlap of time periods. A (short) time gap in between of time periods is allowed but unwelcome. If the time gap is too long, a extension of computing project can be denied and a all-new ID can be generated.
  • Please apply for an extension project, if the origin project tends its end of life in near future (about four month beforehead the project end). Please keep in mind that we need time for the scientific reviewing process for NHR normal and large projects, even for project extensions.
  • Project extension is not possible for PREP projects. User of PREP projects should file in an JARA or NHR Large or NHR Normal project afterwards.
