What is the Software-Shop?

RWTH Aachen University institutions can use the software shop to electronically order software for which the IT Center has concluded central contracts.
This procurement process and the bundling of licenses supports and simplifies RWTH's administrative processes and optimizes licensing costs.
A distinction is made between A and B products. There is a separate software shop for each:
- A-products:
- already pre-financed by the IT Center or RWTH.
- available in the Software Shop by Academic Software for staff with the "Bestellung IT" role and for students.
- B-products:
- offered through framework agreements with the respective software manufacturers (previously only from the MS Select agreement).
- available in the AcadCloud Software Shop for staff with the "Bestellung IT" role.
Ordering
Possible only with the correct authorization/status:
- Employees: Employees with the "Bestellung IT" role can order products from both shops.
- The use of the Software Shop continues to be regulated by each organizational unit by assigning this role to one or more employees via the role management system.
- A PSP element must now be specified during the order & payment process.
- Students: Students with the status "Studierende(r)" can order A-Products in the Academic Software Shop.
- No PSP element is required.
- Students cannot order B-Products.
Viewing products
All members of RWTH Aachen University can view the products in both shops.
Login
- Login is done via the RWTH Single Sign-On
- Username (format: ab123456) + password for the RWTH Single Sign-On account + multi-factor authentication
