What is the Software-Shop?

Software covered by central contracts can be ordered online through the RWTH Software Store. The software store is operated by our partner asknet. asknet GmbH (formerly asknet Solutions AG) has been part of the Academic Software Group since September 2024; therefore, the ordering process takes place via an Academic Software domain.
This procurement process and the bundling of licenses supports and simplifies RWTH's administrative processes and optimizes licensing costs.
The Software Store offers two types of products:
- A-Products:
- These have already been pre-financed by the IT Center or RWTH.
- B-Products:
- These are offered under a framework agreement (currently only from the Microsoft Select Plus Agreement).
Order
- Employees: With the role Bestellung IT, you can order products for your department.
- Each organizational unit continues to manage the use of the Software Shop independently by assigning the role to one or more employees via Role Management.
- Depending on the product, entering a PSP element may be required during the ordering process:
- A-Products: PSP element required for internal transfer posting
- B-products: No PSP element required; payment is made via invoice through FIORI
- Students: Currently, only A-products can be ordered from the software store using the “Student” status. Use is permitted on personal devices for academic purposes.
