General Information

SPSS is an extensive statistics package, which was developed at Chicago University and today it is the most widely spread statistics program.

License Information & Installation

License Agreement

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia, via Bonn University, entered into a state license about the usage of the software package SPSS with the SPSS company. RWTH Aachen University is part of this license; the IT Center is taking care of the distribution of the software within RWTH Aachen University.

We kindly ask you to work with the latest version of the program, as IBM only offers the latest and two previous versions within one license period (Dec 01 - Nov 30).

Installation Instructions

Starting with version 13 of SPSS, the license model has changed. Each SPSS installation for single user licenses must be performed with a unique authorization code. The authorization codes/keys for the installation of the SPSS software can be found on your SPSS order confirmation, which you received after ordering your SPSS license via the RWTH Aachen University software store.

If you have ordered a network license, the license server has to be set. (see ITC-README_Lizenzinfomrationen.txt on the download server).
