Introduction to SPSS
This course is intended to convey the necessary basics for working with SPSS. This includes information about the structure of programmes, creation and use of data sets, features for data processing, as well as simple methods for statistical analysis.

- Creating variables, Data input
Basic Functions:
- Measures of Location and Dispersion Parameters
- Frequency count
- Creating tables and diagrams
- Formatting and optimization of tables and diagrams
Data transformation:
- Classifying Data
- Calculate Variables
- Recoding Variables
Data selection:
- Separate data set
- Select cases
Statistical Processes:
- cross-tables
- Chi-squared test
- correlation analysis
- regression analysis (linear regression, non-linear regression through curve fitting)
Miscellaneous:
- Import and Export of Data
- Tips and Tricks for working with SPSS
Prior knowledge of the methods of statistical analysis used in the course are advantageous.
Timeframe
- 5 sessions of 2 hours each, 10 hours total
