External member wants to invite RWTH member
It may happen that you are to be included in an external team in MS Teams (e.g.: cooperation partners or companies).
Since Microsoft Tenants are separate, a special invitation process is required.
Getting invited by externals
Externals can invite students or employees as a guest using their Microsoft account name.
The student or employee must provide this account name for this purpose.
- click on the profile icon in the upper right corner
- the account name is e.g. "firstname.lastname@example.org" (students) or "email@example.com" (employees).
2. the external can then invite this account name.
(the invitation process can take up to one minute)
3. in order for the team (or the other organization) to be displayed, the respective user must log in to Teams again. After that, the organization (the tenant) can be changed in a drop-down menu at the top right.
