Confirming your mailaddress in GitLab


If you try to login to GitLab, you may receive the following error message:

"Your primary email address is not confirmed." or "You have to confirm your email address before continuing"

The email address must be confirmed in GitLab. The email address to which the GitLab account is linked must be specified at (for the Enterprise Edition) or This procedure applies to both the primary email address and the secondary address(es). If you have logged into Gitlab via DFN AAI or RWTH Single Sign-On, the primary email address is the one currently stored in Identity Management as the contact email address. This can be looked up in the self service of RWTH Aachen University.

Only after all email addresses have been confirmed, a login to GitLab is possible again.
