As part of the rollout of a central GitLab instance for all universities in North Rhine-Westphalia, the git.rwth-aachen.de service will be migrated to git.nrw.
The migration will begin on June 2, 2026, and will continue through July 1, 2027.

What is GitLab?
GitLab is an open-source-software to host and manage own Git-repositories. The tool is provided by Software Engineering Services. Besides the main task of the code-management other functions like a simple issue-tracking-system, a wiki and also an option to review codes are covered. With this GitLab supports the developer, who increase the quality of the developed program codes.
