Please note
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a secure network that enables users to establish an encrypted connection via the Internet, thereby protecting the privacy and security of their online activities.
The IT Center offers users secure, encrypted access to the RWTH network from outside the university via VPN. There are different application scenarios depending on the user group.
Who is allowed to use the RWTH VPN?
Almost anyone with an active status in Identity Management can access the RWTH VPN.
People with the status “Committee Information Portal” and external employees are excluded.
How can authorized persons access the RWTH VPN?
Access to the central RWTH VPN is via the Cisco Secure Client by entering the user name, VPN password, and a valid token.
Access to the VPN of an organization or institute requires activation by the responsible administrator.
