What are Mailing Lists?
In addition to the central email server, the IT Center provides mailing list setup. Unlike mailing lists that you can maintain privately in your email program, a central mailing list can be accessed by a wider audience. The system provides web and email interfaces that can be used to organize login and logout processes.
Who can Use Mailing Lists?
RWTH employees can use mailing lists.
Lists that contain only email addresses from your own organization can be set up via a distribution group in MailAdm.
To do so, please contact a person with the role Verwaltung RWTH-E-Mail ("RWTH Email Administration") at your organization.
For larger distribution lists containing email addresses from different organizations, you can request a mailing list.
How to Use Mailing Lists?
Distribution groups are managed by people with the role Verwaltung RWTH-E-Mail ("RWTH-E-Mail Administration") at your organization via MailAdm.
Access and administration are handled in the MailAdm.
Mailing lists are managed via Mailman. Initial administrators of the lists are specified during the request process. These administrators can then grant permissions to other users.
