Creating and setting up a channel

guide

This page describes how to create a direct feedback channel in the RWTHapp.

Direct feedback channels are chat rooms in which you can interact with your students in real time. Such a channel must be created in order to use direct feedback.
Sent messages can only be read by the sender and by you.

Step 1
Log in to the direct feedback channel as a lecturer. You can find separate instructions in the article Login Directfeedback channel.
After logging in, all channels created by your institute will be displayed in a list.

Step 2
To create a new channel scroll to the end of the list and click on Neuen Kanal anlegen (create new channel). New channels can only be created using the browser, not the app.
Channels are not automatically linked to a specific lecture or event so please name your channel accordingly. It makes it easier for students to find the right one.

Step 3
To make your channel visible to others you have to open your channel under Optionen (options).
Click on Geöffnet (open).

Step 4
To go back to the chat click on the message symbol on the menu bar.

Now you can start sending messages and pictures.

Step 5
Students can access channels for Direct Feedback via RWTHapp under Menu Direct Feedback.
