The IT Center provides SharePoint Shared Service to RWTH institutions and RWTH-external customers to support collaboration, to manage projects or to coordinate tasks. In general, the SharePoint Server 2019 functionalities with special extension are made available to the RWTH Aachen.

The institution or customer receives their own SiteCollection within a SharePoint server farm that is managed exclusively by the customer.

The institution or customer gets the role of the SharePoint-SiteCollection admin for their SharePoint-Sitecollection. The SiteCollection admin is the central role that makes sure that the following settings for the SiteCollection are correctly configured:

• Creating the "Look and Feel" for the SiteCollection
• Adding users and permissions
• Adjusting lists and libraries
• Monitoring
• Communicating with users
