The IT Center provides SharePoint Shared Service to RWTH institutions and RWTH-external customers to support collaboration, to manage projects or to coordinate tasks. In general, the SharePoint Server 2013 functionalities with special extension are made available to the RWTH Aachen.

The customer receives their own SiteCollection within a SharePoint server farm that is managed exclusively by the customer.

The customer gets the role of the SharePoint-SiteCollection admin for their SharePoint-Sitecollection. The SiteCollection admin is the central role that makes sure that the settings for the SiteCollection are correctly configured. This includes creating the "Look and Feel" for the SiteCollection, adding users and permissions, adjusting lists and libraries, monitoring as well as communicating with users.
