This token is not recommended for permanent use.

This page describes the process of setting up an e-mail token.


 

1. Set up e-mail token

Step 1
Go to the Token Manager.

Step 2
Log in via RWTH Single Sign-On (username format "ab123456").

Step 3
Click Create.

Step 4
Choose E-mail and click Next.

Step 5
Enter the e-mail address to which the one-time password should be sent.
Add a description of your choice (e.g. "work e-mail address").

Step 6
After clicking on Verify e-mail, a verification code will be sent to the e-mail address you provided. Please copy the into the next window.

Step 7
Click on Verify code and create token, the token is successfully linked.

 

2. Login with e-mail token

When you log in to an MFA-protected service, you will receive an e-mail with the subject “Ihr Einmal Passwort / Your one time password” to the e-mail-address you provided.

Copy the code contained in the e-mail and enter it in the dedicated field.

The code is valid for 15 minutes.
