The GigaMove service is made available to all participating institutions within the German Research Network via DFN-AAI. The basic requirement for this service is the ability to identify oneself via Shibboleth authentication.

Institutions need to transfer the attributes pairwise_id, firstname, lastname, email via Shibboleth.

Due to the protocols and software used, GigaMove can be used from any hardware - this includes mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.

An up-to-date web browser and the ability to communicate with the server via HTTPS are required to use the service. Aside from that, the following ports have to be activated in the firewall of the organization for gigamove.s3.fds.rwth-aachen.de: (TCP/HTTPS) 9020 and 9021.

To verify the certificates, the browser should be aware of the RWTH CA certificate, the DFN PKI CA certificate and the Telekom CA root certificate.
