The IT Center and the Center for Teaching and Learning Services provide RWTH employees with free access to ChatGPT and comparable AI systems in the form of RWTHgpt.
The RWTHgpt service is based on the generative AI technologies of the company OpenAI and includes AI tools such as ChatGPT-3.5, ChatGPT-4o.
The systems can be accessed via a web interface developed at RWTH Aachen University, which enables data protection-compliant use of the OpenAI systems.

RWTHgpt is continuously being developed. Possible bugs will be fixed and new functions and additional AI models will be added.

RWTHgpt access requirements

In order to access the service, the status "Mitarbeiter RWTH" or "FB10" (in the context of UKA) si required. Your status depends on your employment relationship with RWTH Aachen University.

In order to access the service, the role "Nutzung RWTHgpt" is required in the RWTH Identity Management. 
This role can be assigned to you by owners of the role “Role administration” in your organization. Authorized organizations have already been informed in advance.
Owners of the role “Role administration” of your organization can be viewed in IdM Selfservice under Roles and groups / Role administrators.

No new account needs to be added to the selfservice for access. After successful role assignment, a login via RWTH Single Sign-On is required to access the RWTHgpt web interface.
