Webex
Webex is a cloud-based messenger and team collaboration app from Cisco Systems.
The user of the app has a wide range of functions at his disposal, for example, the chat function or the possibility to hold meetings. In addition, it is possible to make calls via the RWTH phone system using your business phone number or via the so called Webex Cloud Calling.
- To be able to use your business phone number in Webex, you need to activate the softphone option for you device in the TK-Portal.
- In case of calling via Webex, you make the call using the Webex cloud without using your business phone number.

Who is allowed to use Webex?
- Employees (RWTH) can create a Webex account via the TK-Portal.
- Other users can create a Webex account via the Webex page.
What is necessary to be able to use Webex?
To be able to use Webex, please carry out the following steps:
- Create a Webex account
- Download Webex and sign in
- Activate the softphone mode to be able to use your business phone numebr for calls.
