This page describes the legal background of RWTHgpt, the associated privacy policy and terms of use, as well as information on legally compliant use.


 

Terms of Use

You can find an overview of the terms of use in the KI:connect web interface by clicking on the question mark icon at the bottom right of the screen and selecting the Nutzungsbedingungen (Terms of Use) menu item.
Please note that the entry of personal data of third parties is generally not permitted and that you must pay special attention to the property rights of third parties.
By using RWTHgpt, you agree to the terms of use and undertake to comply with them.

 

Privacy Policy

Further information on the privacy policy can be found in the KI:connect web interface by clicking on the question mark icon at the bottom right of the screen and selecting the menu item Datenschutzerklärung (Privacy Policy).
Please also note the overarching privacy policies of RWTH Aachen University and the IT Center.

The recipient of the login data transmitted in connection with the use of the service is the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University. The login data will not be passed on to KI in any form. The university processes personal data and transmits it to the DFN association only to the extent necessary to provide a functional service. The processing of personal data is carried out with express consent and is permitted in accordance with legal regulations.

The Azure OpenAI platform from Microsoft and the models provided there are used to process text entries (questions to RWTHgpt). The data is transmitted to Microsoft solely for the purpose of technically processing the user's query and generating a suitable response. In accordance with the “EU Data Boundary for the Microsoft Cloud (EUDB)”, processing takes place exclusively on servers within the European Union. Microsoft does not use the transmitted data for training AI models and deletes it after a period of 30 days, insofar as it is required for system monitoring and abuse prevention.
