The IT Center supports institute networks, continuously expands supported networks, and adapts them to the current state of the art.

In addition, network components are procured, configured, and kept up to date by the IT Center to ensure operation within the switch infrastructure of RWTH Aachen University.

Overall, the following tasks are particularly important:

• Patching new connections
• Removing unused routes
• Monitoring the infrastructure
• Providing support in the event of errors
