During normal working hours, fault reports can be directed to the particular network contact partner of the respective local network:

In order to report faults, please call the IT ServiceDesk via:

Fault reports are accepted and forwarded from there.

Additionally, fault reports can be reported via e-mail or ticket portal.

Outside working hours: On-call service data network

The phone number of the on-call service data network can only be retrieved during the periods written below via

network service number 29117 (urgent cases only).

This service can only be contacted using the provided number exclusively on telephones registered to the RWTH telephone network.

Please have your address, building name, institution name, name and a call back number on hand so that you can leave accurate identifying information on a voicebox if no personnel is available immediately. Ensure access to the building - if necessary - and support the on-call service in localising the cause of the failure. Only errors concerning devices and cable connections that are part of the backbone or XWIN acess as well as building routers that are managed by the IT Center are managed by the on-call service.

All other fault reports are processed by local network administrators during working hours.

The on-call service for the backbone network, XWIN access, and their passive backend components, such as cable paths with fibre optics etc. and building routers that are managed by the IT Center, is available at the following times:
