Network for Events
We provide temporary telephone and data network connections for events organized by RWTH organizations.
Please contact the IT-ServiceDesk in good time, i.e., three to four weeks before the start of the event. The larger and more extensive the event, the earlier you should register.
In some cases, complex temporary cabling must be installed. The IT Center must then plan for the necessary personnel and transport resources.
Submitting a request for data connections to the IT Center does not exempt you from the need to reserve the necessary rooms (lecture hall allocation). Required power connections must also be requested separately.
Depending on the event(s size), RWTH facilities with existing infrastructure can also be used, for example:
- Aula I in the main building with main entrance area
- Audimax (green and red lecture hall)
- Super C (6th floor Sparkassenforum)
Who is allowed to apply for a network for events?
Employees of RWTH organizations can submit the application.
If you do not belong to an RWTH organization but are still organizing an event on RWTH premises, please contact your contact persons at RWTH.
Your colleagues can then submit an application to us.
How do I apply for a network for events?
You can submit an informal application by e-mail, letter, or telephone to the IT Service Desk.
Please indicate that you are applying for an event network and provide the following information:
- Number of network connections required
- Type of connections (connector type, data transfer speeds, etc.)
- Installation location(s) and connection distribution with sketch
- Type and number of additional network technology components required (cables, media converters, switches, etc.)
