What is Ionos?

Ionos is a cloud computing platform operated by Ionos SE and is part of the Service Multi Cloud Solutions at the IT Center. Ionos enables the use of various Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) for RWTH.

These services can be scaled flexibly and allow for efficient resource utilization. The offering includes, among other things:

• Database systems such as MariaDB and MongoDB
• additional storage solutions such as Object Storage
• AI applications, including Stable Diffusion and Llama, as well as
• virtual infrastructure services such as virtual machines and networks, CDN

Ionos is currently in the pilot phase at RWTH. If your department is interested in participating in the pilot, please send an email with a brief use case description to the IT Service Desk.
