Integrated Hosting

The operation of computing clusters in the institutes requires a not negligible infrastructural effort (electricity, climate and security), as well as a not inconsiderable support effort.

The idea of integrative hosting is to host such systems in the IT center and operate them in conjunction with the high-performance computer (RWTH High Performance Computing - Linux). Due to the "Economy of Scale" at the IT Center, the resulting additional costs for the IT Center are comparatively low.
The integrative hosting service has been used successfully by several institutes for a long time. More than 550 systems with more than 6,200 processor cores are operated here.
In addition to operation, the IT Center also procures such systems.
