What is Multi Cloud Solutions?

The Multi Cloud Solutions service encompasses several cloud solutions. With cloud technology, a service is delivered over the Internet rather than via a local computer or server.

Cloud technologies enable IT resources and applications to be deployed quickly, flexibly, and scalably—thereby supporting RWTH Aachen University’s core processes in research, teaching, and administration. RWTH’s cloud strategy establishes a binding framework for this: needs must be reliably met without creating a one-sided dependency on individual providers. Against this backdrop, Multi Cloud Solutions consolidates the procurement of selected Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings from public cloud service providers and supports exit and migration strategies between providers. The scope of use includes, among other things, various infrastructure services such as virtual machines and computing resources, storage solutions such as object storage or databases, virtual networks, as well as AI applications and models. The specific services offered vary depending on the provider.
