RWTHgpt
The IT Center and the Center for Teaching and Learning Services provide RWTH employees with free access to ChatGPT and comparable AI systems in the form of RWTHgpt.
The RWTHgpt service is based on the generative AI technologies of the company OpenAI and includes multiple language models and AI tools from which users can choose.
The systems can be accessed via a web interface developed at RWTH Aachen University, which enables data protection-compliant use of the OpenAI systems.

RWTHgpt is continuously being developed. Possible bugs will be fixed and new functions and additional AI models are being added.

RWTHgpt access requirements
In order to be authorized to access the service, the status "Mitarbeiter RWTH" or "FB10" (in the context of UKA) is required. Your status depends on your employment relationship with RWTH Aachen University.
In order to access the service, the role "Nutzung RWTHgpt" is required within the RWTH Identity Management.
This role can be assigned to you by owners of the role “Verwaltung Rollen” in your organization. The possibility of assigning this role has already been activated for all authorized RWTH organizations.
Owners of the role “Verwaltung Rollen” of your organization can be viewed in IdM Selfservice under Roles and groups / Role administrators.
No new account needs to be added to the selfservice for access. After successful role assignment, a login via RWTH Single Sign-On is required to access the RWTHgpt web interface.
