Please be sure to perform a restart (powercycle / cold start) of your servers provided as part of the ‘Physical Server Hosting’ service at least once per calendar quarter so that the server firmware is updated.

• To maintain functionality and IT security, firmware updates provided by the server manufacturer must be installed regularly. Corresponding updates are provided quarterly by the IT Centre so that they are installed automatically the next time the server is restarted. This means that all updates provided are installed during the restart. This may result in several system restarts. The process can take between 15 and 45 minutes, depending on how many and which updates are available.
