JupyterLab Profiles and Singularity Containers
Some JupyterLab Profiles are created using HPC Singularity containers.
A Singularity container allows HPC administrators to create JupyterLab definitions using existing container images to facilitate the JupyterLab Profile creation process.
If a user wishes to use a specific external Singularity container from the internet in the HPC JupyterLab, this must be installed by the HPC administrators in collaboration with the user.
Singularity JupyterLab containers handle the environment differently than native Profiles, and may not fully support a functional HPC terminal. Kernels and Notebooks run without problems.
