Usage Statistics for streaming videos (Video views)

For videos that were made available via the RWTH streaming server (Opencast), the player can be used to view the view numbers. This is also possible without the Usage Statistics plugin. If you want to view the click-through rates of a video, follow these steps:

  • Go to the position in the course room where the video is embedded and the video is ready to play in the player.
  • Click the folder icon in the player.
  • In the window that opens, you can see next to the "Ansichten" item how often the video has been clicked so far.

Please note:

Only one click per current session in RWTHmoodle is counted. If a person plays the video several times during a session, only one view is counted.

The number of views are only click counts. They do not give any indication of how long the video has been playing.
