Create/Edit Configuration File
The central TSM configuration file is called 'dsm.sys' on Unix and 'dsm.opt' on Windows. The following table shows where the respective file can be found. Paths refer to the basic installation directory (varying according to operating system) of the software:
operating system | configuration file |
---|---|
AIX | /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.sys |
other Unix/Linux | /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.sys |
Windows | c:\programme\tivoli\tsm\baclient\dsm.opt |
Attention: On Unix systems you also have to create the file 'dsm.opt' in addition to the configuration file 'dsm.sys' in the same directory. The file 'dsm.opt' has to remain blank on Unix systems.
To be able to use the archive you have to configure the configuration file - that might have to be created first - as follow:
dsm.sys (Unix/Linux)
SERVERNAME basXX |
dsm.opt (Windows)
TCPSERVERADDRESS basXX.itc.rwth-aachen.de |
Please refer to thebackup and archive portal on which server their archive node is.
