2. Installation of the Client Software
After downloading, the client software may have to be extracted before the installation. In case the installation package is available as a 'tar-Archive', you can extract it with the command
tar -xvf filename.tar |
The installation of the client has to be conducted as follows:

Detailed instructions for the installation are to be found in the respective download directories of the client.
For the installation of the client on Linux systems, a special version of the library 'libstdc++' is required. This library is usually not installed by default on current systems. In order to intsall the client, this library has to be added by installing a corresponding rpm-package (e.g. coompat-libstdc++33.i386). The respective compat-packages for the various distributions can be found on our installation and update server.
After successful installation, the DFN root certificate must be imported to establish communication between client and server. See Importing the Certificate
